Okay Which one of you got my Pumpkins :)

So after 2 weeks of waiting for my 9 funkins to be delivered from the Special deal, I get an email that they were accidentally sent to another customer in Florida!! :!con_p_cryiing: Not only did you get my 9 pumpkins, you live in Florida and I am in Minnesota getting ready for winter. Luckily, the e...

Pumpkins at Target 9-17-2014

A couple of my local Target stores have the foam pumpkins on the shelf in the Halloween set. They are an inch or two smaller on the carving area as the stem is longer than on the Funkins but they say they are 11" or 12" pumpkins I bought one to check out and it seems very similar to last year's kin....

Re: Stoneykins And Funkins Contest/Drawing

Consider me entered!

That would be a great kin for a deathstar carve, with a little modification. :!con_p_Laugh:

Re: Shading Video Desired

gorobman I want to echo what Stoney has said. I started about 4 years ago when I found this website, but I didn't see or read the forum. So my first foam pumpkin carve was just me doing what I thought was the right way. This involved we using only an exacto knife & cutting a grid pattern in the shad...

Re: Funkins FeedBack !

Do you have a good source for bulk 3/64 drill bits, St0ney? Or do you find that because they are a little larger, it's not as necessary to have so many on hand for breakage? Actually I have a Good Source For all Dremel Drill Bits http://www.wttool.com/common/images/product/large/01410161.jpg Here's...

Re: Tip for Getting Patterns off the Pumpkin

Gorobman,
I have used it on this years Micheal's pumpkins and this tip works great.
By getting the pattern a little warm it stops the paint from popping off the pumpkin, which seems to happen even in the larger areas of this years pumpkins.

Do you outline photo realistic patterns with an X-Acto?

So I normally outline all the cut out and shaded areas on my patterns with an X-Acto knife first to help keep a clean edge. But now I am looking to do a photo-realistic carve of the T-Rex http://www.stoneykins.com/Patterns/product_images/w/551/T-Rex_tn__79128_std.png With this small of shaded & cut ...

Re: Funkins FeedBack !

Great to hear on the discount kins being great to carve. Do you know if there is a bulk order shipping discount for them? I was thinking of getting 15-20 this year but would prefer to avoid paying $11 shipping for each kin if they can be shipped together making it easier for you or funkins and cheap...

Trying to find a large foam kin for a Deathstar!

My wife is a HUGE starwars fan (I know usually it is the husband who is the fanatic, but that is why I married her :!con_p_Laugh2: ) So since she puts up with my pumpkin habit I wanted to create a large Deathstar carving similar to the picture below. I want it to be much larger than a regular funkin...

Re: Best/Cheap way to display a bunch of foam kins

I ended up doing a combination of PVC and wood. I used a large forstner drill bit to make a 1in deep hole in a square piece of 2 by 4 and then glued PVC pipes into them. These then get screwed into long boards top and bottom, making a shelf above and below. See a couple pictures below of the shelves...
