You mentioned these were some of your firsts, others have mentioned how complex the patterns were you started with. My own experience is similar, jumped right in because I liked a pattern, then several hours later... ( using hand tools, my carving with power tools didn't start for years. ) Then it just became learn from it, or challenge myself, or learn how long this would take ( when working real pumpkins ).

Thank you. When I first started it was all because of the patterns. They were so unique I couldn't help but do the ones that grabbed my attention. I can not even imagine doing these with hand tools. Kudos to you! That takes WAY more patience than I have.

Thank you! I love some of the artsy patterns. It's neat-o to see them on a different template than the originals.

Sarah, you have some serious skills! You do mostly foamkins, yes? What's your carving setup?

Yes I have only carved on foam kins. I'm not sure what you mean by set-up. I have a generic off brand dremel I bought at Menards for like $20, some 1/32 drill bits and some round burrs. That's it. I don't really have any "set-up" I guess. I carve in an unfinished room in my basement while watching Doctor Who and drinking coffee :).

And thank you for the kind words everyone. It makes me feel all warm and pumpkin dust fuzzy on the inside :)

Here's another favorite of mine.
