I don't know how Russell Crowe will be as Javert ??
This is the Musical on film.

The Film is already getting great reviews.

To date Philip Quast is my Favorite Javert.

Les Misérables Movie:

Taking the Wife to see this tonight, My daughter is sleeping at Grand moms tonight.
So after a few months we finally have a DATE NIGHT.

Seen a clip on Russell Crowe singing on Comcast, and I think I may have been right.
Great Actor = Yes Yes Great Singer (not so much) - LOL

One of the Highlights I'm looking forward to seeing (and I had no idea) until I looked up the cast. is Colm Wilkinson Plays the Bishop. Wilkinson Played Jean Valjean for years. (in the West End and Broadway)

here he is in the 10th Anniversary Special. (I have this on DVD)

The Photo Below is pretty Neat, for he is the Bishop in the Film Version.

Just got back from seeing this film.

The Film is Very Good. and was worth seeing.

Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean = Great Job
Anne Hathaway as Fantine = AWSOME !!
Amanda Seyfried as Cosette = AWSOME !!
Samantha Barks as Éponine = AWSOME !! (best singer in the film)

Now Russell Crowe as Javert = Can NOT sing for Shit, total Mis-Casting.

They should have Casted Kevin Spacey as Javert (he would have pulled it off).
Crowe was WRONG WRONG WRONG for this Part !!!

Thank God the co-stars was able to carry the film.

All and All the Film was enjoyable, But every-time Crowe started to sing, I was like NOOOOOOO not again,

For me the film would have been much better, if they started it with Javert's suicide :!con_p_Laugh: He let the Javert Character down.!! IMO.

I have to agree with you. But really enjoyed the movie.... in spite of Russell Crowe's singing.

I really Did enjoy the film, But yea Crowe as Javert was a big let down.
I think Crowe would have been fine playing Javert if this was a straight up movie version, instead of the musical version. Like the mini series done 12 years ago where "John Malkovich" played Javert. For Crowe is a great actor, Just a Lousy Singer.

Also something more than Just the word Awesome, needs to be said on Anne Hathaway's role.

I always thought that I truly knew the Fantine Character.
I have seen Countless People sing "I Dreamed a Dream" over the years,
And every single one pretty'd the song up. Anne Hathaway sang it, in such a way, that she really brought the true meaning of the pain and suffering this woman went through for her child. My Wife Cried her eyes out. as did many in the theater.

Anne "SHOULD" Get a best supporting actress / Oscar for this Role - it was Flawless, and Breathtaking.
She was Incredible !!!!

The part was too small (time on screen) to warrant best actress.

If you guys want to see a really great version of Les Misérables.

Then Rent "Les Misérables 1978"

Anthony Perkins Plays Javert and he is Brilliant !!!

There's a version of it on YouTube, but it's a bit Choppy in some places.

Here's a link to Part 1 (of 15)
