Same here. These new spouts are a perfect example of what happens when the government gets involved in things it shouldnt be.

In the uk, a plastic petrol can can only be 5 litres, so its not really a problem...

That said some / many of your vehicles can be so incredibly OTT & fuel guzzlers I anticipate 5 litres would be akin to spitting in your petrol tank (it's not "gas" ..you lot are just lazy verbally :Devilish: )

Anything else has to be a metal jerry can (normally the traditional design) ..so unless you are going off-roading folk stick to the small plastic one.

Dumb people will always find a way round any safety mechanism, ...so why bother!?, thin out the herd & up the ante of the gene pool ..can you get fined now for the "wrong type" of container?

if they cant be trusted to pour themselves juice from a carton of juice should they really be driving let alone handling flammables?

The air release mechanism is a good idea, ..implementing it this late in the day as an added extra shows the inherent flaw we all live with but take for granted.

Only a Brit would use an extremely generic term that can be used for everything from plastic toys to anal lube and then call us lazy for using the correct term.

I'm going to go have a refreshing drink from an aloooominum can now.

the air-like substance that burns easily and that is used for cooking and heating is called gas.
Whilst they do share key chemical components of hydrocarbons et al, why the need to confuse them?

The origin of petrol in language is linked to latin for rock & oil. (in simple terms)

I like gas, I use it for secondary burn & to gauge the efficiency of my fuel loading (via wood gasification) in my WBS & my dedicated wood gasifiying stove.

My stove is in part made from "aluminium"
...I do wonder about american English being taught in schools being called "English" the two are actually far apart, why has it never been changed to reflect that? ..it is "General American" or "Webster's English" after all.
The languages are similar but not the same, that is why they bump up against each other ..his first dictionary was railed upon by both sides of the fence at the time.
As a fan(cier) of etymology it is perplexing.

For me the petrol cans - are for my Lawn Equipment. - Well Just the Lawn Mower.

I buy this stuff for the Oil and Gas Mix. For my trimmer and Blower.
(Never have any Issue with Start-up). this stuff also has fuel stabilizers, already in the mix.
93+ octanes, ethanol-free formula !!
