I get approached / Emailed every year, from companies that want to advertise on this site.
I have always pasted on this, for I hate seeing Banner ads on websites. And to be honest I never thought the income would be worth it.
Just got a email from another, they want to put a proposal together.
I Know this would be MY Choice,
But would like to hear from you guys. You all may know more about this than I do.
This site gets OVER a Million Hits Late Sept, and Oct. And each year the traffic Builds even higher.

Banner ads and whatnot don't bother me.

I'd be totally fine with it, as long as they weren't really intrusive (ie an ad pops up and I have to click an x to see the pattern each time).

I am completely behind anything that keeps the site going.

Stoney,
If you are getting over a million hits in three months you'd be stupid not to look into this revenue oppurtunity.
I would suggest if it is one company looking to advertise, offer them exclusivity for more money and then work their ads into your design. Less intrusive and should bring more money with less hassle from having to have multiple advertisers. If you have more than one company interested, let them bid for exclusivity after giving them a minimum price. You may be surprised at exactly how much yu can achieve.

Yeah a banner ad won't be bad and it will be good for you to make some money to cover cost. As long as they stay small, aren't popup ads it should be fine.
One thing I do hate is when a site does a full wrap ads for some item or game. Like when the top, both sides and bottom all are one big advertisement. Those are annoying and distracting. (also avoid animated ads)
Good luck hopefully you can make some good money

Well - for the one that sent me the email - I passed on it.
I'm not willing to play Link games, hide their links in the words of my pages.
I'm okay with banner ads, as long as (as you stated) it don't become the main focal point. etc....
and will only do it if the $$$$ is right.
