It's a USELESS TOOL - (And Now a Broken Useless Tool)

Here's What it is:
(and I made this Same Exact post on another board Last year or the year before), and because Mr Pumpkin gutter inventor is on that Board, My Post Went into the Bermuda triangle to never be seen again, It Just Vanished !

I was a Consumer that Bought this Product, and was Unhappy with it.
Not All Customer Reviews are Positive, On Products.
If the Customer Had Issues with Said Product.


You Guys can Buy whatever tool you want to Use.
But because Something Looks COOL does NOT make it USEFUL.


Here's ALL it IS : (Cordless Drill not included)



You Cut the Lid, Attach this to your Drill, And Place it in the Pumpkin, and go Round and Round, you then take it off your Drill and Clean all the strings and Guts left on the tool.

And YES I tried it (And Was Very Unhappy with it)
- I Bought (2) of them on my first Order, and Gave them Away !

If the Tool was Good I would promote the hell out of it.

If you Have Just (3) Hand Tools - You can Gut a Perfect Carving Pumpkin in Much Less time than using this Thing.

Here I'm Going for Speed, But have been Clocked by Sharon in doing it in 30 Seconds.
This is Also Removing the Lid in that Time Frame.

When I Normally Gut a Pumpkin and do it at Normal Speed, it's a minute and a Half Tops.

I Will List the inexpensive tools Below Once I find My Pix.

Tools For EASY Gutting

1) Cutting the Lid (or Bottom) Don't Use a Knife.
Use a Drywall Saw





2) Cutting the strings and Scooping The Guts Out
Use the Monster SCOOP Found At Micheals. - Or Online



3) Now to Thin the Walls, and Clean the Bottom.
Kemper Ceramic Loop Tool (the Pear Shaped One) I sell these on the main Site. $3.50 each





That's ALL YOU NEED !

I've used these Exact Same tools for Many Years, and have Gutted 100's of Pumpkins.

Yea - I just hate that I tried it - and it Sucked !
And that my review on this was removed, elsewhere.

You can Fix the one you Have, you will Need to Grind down the Round Part that Slips in the Drill, Instead of ROUND - A much better Design would have been, Octagon.

If you have a Grinding Wheel for your dremel, Just Rough up the Bottom Sides of the Stem.
On a few of the Sides, this should help the Drill Chuck Grab it better.

See the Shape of this Bit, you want it to do something like that.

I love the gutter, WAIT STONEY WAIT!

...However as i'm sure will have been stated on here countless times is, CONTEXT..

Basically if you use anything less than a corded drill (mains plug in with a support ing handle then you haven't in all likelihood used it properly.
Look at it this way fire a rifle without shouldering it! ...
ok now use a gutter on a drill with pee weak RPM's in your hand (that's jointed not rigid) ...
Now what happens?

The gutter simply bucks around ..less than satisfactory.

More power & rigidity (braceing) required for consistent speedy results.
Just because that's how it's advertised (more folk have battery drills at a guess than corded drills)?? ..doesn't mean it's the way it performs "peak".
Get a big drill, plug it in, stand firm, minion at the ready to turn the kin around & "flay-away"

..a bit like in a photoshopped advert for a home pc, compact, no cr@p in the way, no cables & discs all over the place.... no way a reality!

Loads of folk moan about my daughters choice of cinema projector in her room, it's secondary, on a wall in a kids blacked out room for animated films & to zone out for a few hours, ....it doesn't need to be HD*, it simply needs to keep the kid quiet (& double up for an extra projection of Hallowindow)

I've tried it using a heavy duty Dewalt corded drill.


The guts were getting wrapped around and tangled on the bottom bulb thing.
Yes you simply remove it from the drill to clean it off.
and replace it, then it got mucked up a 2nd time (on the same kin),
and once again I had to remove it and clean it.

To me, it was not worth the trouble.
My hands still had to touch the guts to remove it from the gutter.
(which is the pumpkin gutters biggest selling Point) because gutting a pumpkin is So damn Hard and messy.

Gutting a Pumpkin using a few hand tools is not hard at all.
During pumpkin season, I gut and carve about 10 to 20 pumpkins daily.

Not Rushing - I gut a Med Sized pumpkin in less than 2 minutes.

That's
a) Removing the lid
b) Scraping and removing the seeds and strings
c) Then Thinning the walls.
