Being in the uk this may already be in the U.S. (or over).

I bought a new HP Envy 5540 the other week & just registered it today to utilise the "instant ink" to best effect (in theory at least). £39.95

Heaviest print out season is now thru November (patterns DUH)

You get 3 months free ink when you sign up (can be altered by yourself at anytime). on the instant ink system, obviously you get a couple of starter cartridges.

It obviously does require you to leave a note to self to check your ink requirement setting prior to the end of the free period..

SO, options are for various ink / paper page printout allowances...

Suggest you hit the £7.99 per month / 300 sheets, (this should allow you to get ahead now & cover the high season).
Downgrade the consumption accordingly.. afterwards.

My set up was this morning 15.08.2017 ...so go's through to mid November potentially 900 pages of inky goodness.

Just a thought!

That is a good thought.

I am fortunate in that I use a laser printer with toner. I can print thousands of pages before the cartidge needs replacement.

Yes, I have one, but in last couple of years it has lost it's static charge ...don't want to bin it, can't find out how to re-jig it / whether its doable in an affordable manner but its a 50lb doorstop currently (sic)
