I am gathering all the materials together to make some windowkins, but what I am concerned about is that I will obviously need to put on outside of windows, exposing the boards and tissue paper to the weather. How do you combat this issue? I was thinking maybe just spraying some clear coat on there. Does anyone have any suggestions or methods that they use to display the windowkins? Thank you in advance for all responses!

Ahhh just the input I was looking for. Now, do you use a colored vinyl or do you use the tissue paper and then cover with vinyl?

Colored vinyl table cloths. My local dollars stores had every color imaginable.

I just put mine on the inside of the window. No problems with weather at all.

The windows in my house are split in two across the middle, so if I put them on the inside, I would have that blocking the pattern unfortunately. I would love to keep them on the inside, but I would not like how it looks with a 2 inch black line going through the middle.

Unless you put the light source between the windowkin and the window, aren't you going to have this line anyway?

With it being on the outside of the house, there will be about 3 inches clearance between the windowkin and where the line is, so Im hoping that it will be less noticable, but yes I am sure you will still see it slightly.
